FULL SYNOPSIS

Based on the bestselling young adult novel by the author Suzanne Collins The Hunger Games tells the dark story of a young 16 year old girl named Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence), who is chosen to participate in a televised tournament cycle in which 24 teenagers from a struggle of post-apocalyptic death for the entertainment of the masses. In the future, North America is no more. In its place rose Panem, a divided nation divided into 12 districts. Every year, each district elects a teenager of either sex (called "Tribute") to test their value in a competition known as The Hunger Games, which are broadcast across the nation as entertainment, and strengthen the power Total government. When her younger sister was selected as District 12 of the last "Tribute", Katniss volunteers to take his place, and trains under the old hard drinking Hunger Games champion Haymitch Abernathy (Woody Harrelson) to refine his killer instincts .
